Etymology

Perhaps 'Snytra's farm', v. tūn , as Ekwall (DEPN) suggests. Cf. Snetterton Nf, Snitterley, the old name of Blakeney Nf, and Snitterby L. He thinks this unrecorded pers.n. is a derivative of OE  snotor , snytre 'wise'.
