Etymology

'Tibba's slope', v. scelf . Forms in -ss - may be purely scribal (for sh ), but with the occurrence of spellings with medial -i - (which is hardly likely to represent the OE  wk.gen. -an ) they may point to a strong form of the pers.n., OE  Tibb (gen.sg. Tibbes , ME  Tibbes , Tibbis ) rather than Tibba .
