Etymology

Humberholme (lost), Humber Holme 1548 DbA xlv, Humberholme 1584 Lanc, 1637, 1647, 1651 DbAns viiet passim to 1849TA . The forms are late but perhaps the first element is the same as R. Humber (RN 201–5 and Jackson 510), v. Humber . The second element is ON  holmr, 'low-lying land by a river'.
