Etymology

Lime Fm and Morley Lime, Morley Lime 1622 DbA i, 1676 ParReg, cf. bosci de Lyme 1228–40 Werb, bosci de Lima late 13th ib. This is an old British wood-name, found perhaps also in the county in Limb Hill supra 240, from a derivative of Brit  *lemo- 'elm'.
