Etymology

Possibly 'brook by an enclosure', v. loc , brōc ; for a similar sense cf. Haybourne (PN Sx 153). The OE  pers.n. *Loca adduced for Lockington (PN ERY 160–1, PN NRY 91) might also be considered.
