Etymology

Morley Park, park of Morley 1329 Pat, Morle 1330 QW, Morlegh 1334 Pat, park de Morley 1372 Gaunt, Morleypark 1381 ib. This was one of the parks of Duffield Frith, having no historical connection with Morley supra 486, though the names are of course identical in meaning. 'Moor clearing', v. mōr 1 , lēah .
