Etymology

'Ēadwulf's farm', v. tūn . The DB spelling D - shows the not infrequent omission of initial vowel in p.ns. in that text, cf. Edstaston (Sa)Stanestune 1086 DB. A similar omission of initial E - has been noted in the form Delaston ' which probably belongs here.
