Etymology

Grindsbrook Booth, Grymesbrok (e )1342 Cl, 1556–8 ECP, 1566, 1567 Lanc, Grimsbrok Bothe 1561 Pat, vaccar ' in Eydall vocat ' Grimesbrooke 1607DuLa , Grymesbruck Boothe 1608 DbAns xxiii, Grinds Booth 1767 Burdett. The booth was named from the stream on which it stands, which is 'Grim's brook', v. brōc ; for booth cf. Lady Booth Brook supra 10.
