Etymology

Rowtor Rocks (6″), Rouetorr (e )1413 DbA xxii, Rowter 1663 DbA xxxii. 'Rough rock', v. rūh , torr , cf. Rough Tor (PN D 199). It is a large rough pile of gritstone rock, some 50 feet high (Kelly).
