Lawn Cottage

Early-attested site in the Parish of Belper

Lawn Cottage (6″), cf. Bradleylaund (e )1417, 1482MinAcct , 1530DuLaMB , Bradley Laund (e )1546 Lanc, 1603Ct , 1607MinAcct , 1662, 1670, 1702 ParReg Duffield. 'Glade belonging to Bradley (supra )', v. launde . It would seem likely that this identification is correct, for it appears to have been a different place from Belper Laund , v. The Lawn infra 527.
