The Greaves, now Beeley Hilltop, le Greuis Hy 3WollCh , le Greues 1317 ib et freq . 'The groves', v. grǣfe . It is Hilltop Farm 1720Hard .According to Lysons 32, William Saville purchased The Greaves estate in 1687 and changed the name to Hill Top, but the former name remained in use much longer, for The Greaves has been noted in 1861 (White).
