Cobnar Wood, a wood called Cobbenouere 1324 Ipm, Cobnour 1556Portland , a wood called Cobnor Spring , 1586 ib, Cobnor Sprynge 1587 ib. 'Cobba's bank or slope', v. ofer 2 to which later was added spring 'wood'.
