It may possibly be associated with del Hevenyng 1332 SR (p). This is the best recorded example of a name which occurs four times in the county. Several suggestions, formally possible, might be hazarded, but in view of the late appearance of the name and the uncertainty whether the name began with h , no definite explanation can be offered.
