Etymology

Blaze Beck and Bridge (both 6″). The 'Blaze' in question may be recorded in the name of Edward del Blees (1325Ass ). If so, it may well be identical with the Norwegian bles which occurs in Blaze Fell supra 220. The bridge is Whinlatter Bridge 1753 CW (OS) xv.
