Etymology
It is so named from Busta Beck on which it stands. Cf. Biscopethweyt 1285For , Bischopthwait 1309MinAcct (p) in the neighbourhood. 'Bishop's stream (bekkr) and þveit.' The circumstances under which these names arose are unknown.
