Historical Forms

  • Settaller 1563 PR(Crosth)
  • Seitaller, Seataller 1566 ib
  • Seatallor fell 1777 NB

The forms are late, but suggest that the name is an inversion compound consisting of sætr and alor , 'alder-tree.'
