Etymology

'Wīgstān's farm', from the OE  pers.n. Wīgstān and tūn. Certain forms of this p.n. are confused with those of Wisterson 42supra , and this has led to mistaken identifications, cf. Orm2 iii330 n. The development of the Wisterson form is analogous with that of Austerson, Hunsterson 130, 65infra .
