Eliuereslach' 1310–30(a watercourse, the secondel. is læc(c)'a boggy stream'; the first may be a compound of ǣl, ēl'an eel'and OE  ge -fær(gen.sg. -es)'a going, a course, a march', cf. eel-fare NED(from 1533)'the migration of elvers'. The stream-name would mean'boggystream in which the elvers run')
