Etymology

Willaston Mill (109–327784), Willaston Mill 1831 Bry, cf. Mill Croft , Mill Field & Mill Hey 1843TA , the Milne Hey 1688 Sheaf, Mill Croft 1789 ib, v. myln , (ge)hæg, croft . Hereabouts was a place Midlethrinlowe 1309 Sheaf3 25, (a mill built at ) Trymelowe 1321 ib 18, 'at (the middle one of) the three mounds', v. middel , þrēo (dat. þrīm ), hlāw . In Sheaf3 26 (5762) Midlethrinlowe is located about two hundred yards north of Willaston Mill, which may be the mill mentioned in 1321.
