Etymology

'Bud(d)a's enclosure', from the OE  pers.n. Bud (d )a and worð.Little - (v. lȳtel ) distinguishes this from Great Budworth 2107, which was a larger parish. It adjoins Rushton 291infra and Over 170supra .It was 'in the forest', v. in , en , forest , (ge)fyrhðe being within the Forest of Delamere 18.
