Etymology

'Wolf hill', from wulf and hyll , with pōl 1 , hall , and myln . Cf. Woolfall Fm infra . The development of the -(h )all form may be due to substitution of ON  hallr 'a slope, a hill' for hyll . The hall is in Buerton township.
