Harebarrow Fm formerly Old Harborough (101–881760), Lower Harebarrow (101–883751) & New Harebarrow (101–878757), Harebarrowlake (101–886759), Harebarwe c.1220 Chest, Harebarwe 1364Eyre (p), Hareborowe 1376 Tab, Harborowe , Harborowe Hall 15 Orm2, New & Old Harbarrow , Harbarrow Lake 1831 Bry, 'hoar wood', from hār 2 and bearu , with hall , lacu , cf. Big Wood infra . The district is on the Prestbury boundary and its earliest appearance is in the bounds of land called Bothes in Prestbury 213infra .
