Etymology
Nantwich became a separate parish in 1677. It was formerly a parochial chapelry of Acton 126infra , containing the townships 1. Alvaston (now included in Nantwich and Worleston c.ps. infra and 151 infra ), 2. Leighton, 3. Nantwich (now a c.p. including part of Alvaston supra ), 4. part of Willaston (v. 41infra ), 5. Woolstanwood.
