Etymology

Barsey Fm is terram Willelmi de Berardeshey t. Ed 2Cole xxii, Barcy 's 1748 ib. xxxv, farm called Barcy 1783Trinity , Barsey Fm c. 1840TA , Borsey farm 1851 Gardner, and was the home of William de Berardesheye (1268Ass ), Berardesye , Bernardesey (1272 ib.). It is probably local in origin. 'Beornheard 's enclosure,' v. (ge)hæg.
