Gravel Bridge, Gravel Rd (6″) are Gravel way bridge 1710Trinity , the Gravel Road 1774Terr , Gravel Bridge road 1826CCC ; cf. Golea (Golay ) Field (al. Grauelley Brig Field )1774Terr . This latter alternative is Goldey (e )1357, 1383CCC , Goldeybro (o )ke 14th, 1448 ib., Gooldeybrook 1477 ib., Go (o )l (e )yfield 1575Survey , v. ēg and cf. Goldiford (PN BedsHu 195) from OE  goldeg (BCS 909), probably used of marshland covered with some 'golden' flower such as marigold.
