OE  eorþburh , 'earthwork,' here probably prehistoric, v. Fox 137, 141, 157 and cf. Arbury (PN Nth 13, PN La 98, PN Wa 79–80) and Harborough (PN Wa 289). For Narborough from at then Erburgh , cf. Nelmes (PN Ess 114).
