Etymology

This is spoken of as Hatheresey in Rec . of Bucks. ii. 218 and it is said that it is now Addersley near Eakley Lanes. The name is probably OE  Ēadheres ēg , 'Eadhere's island,' v. eg . The later forms seem to be corrupt.
