Historical Forms

  • Mortons c.1825 O

Etymology

v. mor , tun . This is a lost manor of the Bishop of Winchester's in West Wycombe. To judge by the position of the name in the O.S. map as noted above it must have been ¼ mile east of Wood Barn in Little Marlow parish, and if so some adjustment of boundaries must have taken place.
