Etymology

Perhaps for OE  Cūsan -hlāw , 'Cusa's hill,' v. hlaw . Cūsa is a well-established OE name. sl > ll by assimilation, just as sr becomes rr in Courage (Berks), earlier Cusanhricg (BCS 900).
