Etymology

'Furze-covered hill' from an unrecorded OE  adj. fyrsen . The passage in which the name is found refers to the road between Furcenhull and Collett, RH i. 45. There is a well-marked footpath which runs west from Furzenhill, joins Akeman St. near Waddesdon and then goes on to Collett.
