Etymology

'East farm' and distinguished by the name of the feudal holder. Joh. de Sanford is party to a Fine in Aston in 1199.Lipscomb (i. 41) suggests that it is 'east' in distinction from West End on the opposite side of Haddenham. Haddenham and Aston had the same lord in DB (TRE).
