Garson's Lane (Garsons 1841TA ), cf. La Garston '1241Ass (p), La Garstone 1261 Ipm (p), La Garston 1300 ib (p), in this part of the county, and Walter atte Garston 1344LHRS , whose fellow-witness is William atte Nuptown (infra ). The surname derives from the place- name gærs-tūn, of which there is an example in the adjacent parish of Bray 51.
