Conger Hill

Early-attested site in the Parish of Toddington

Etymology

These early forms are quoted from Mr Hight Blundell's history of Toddington (p. 5) and point to ME  conynger , 'rabbit- warren' (cf. NED s.v. conyger ). There is no trace of such now, but it is perhaps hardly to be expected and the earthwork on the hill must have had some earlier name now lost.
