Etymology

This may contain an OE  pers. name Bǣre (with weak form Bǣra ) which is on record in the 8th cent. This seems to be found in Barrington (C) and in Husbands Bosworth (Lei), which is probably a duplicate of the present name. A diminutive of it occurs in Barlings (L). Hence 'Bære's enclosure,' v. worþ .
