Etymology

The pers. name Inta is found in OE and has its OGer  cognate in Inzo (Förstemann PN 956), cf. Intwood (Nf). There are several hills here (v. beorg ) and it is clear that the name was originally 'Inta's hills.' Confusion between t and k is very common, cf. Collett's Green in Powick supra 225.
