Lush Cl , Lushes Marsh 1838TA , a surname ; Lush 's Fm was formerly Maids-hole 1811 OS , Maidshole [Fm]1870 Hutch3 4319 , and was perhaps renamed through motives of delicacy , cf. terra arabilis de Maydenecroft 1338–40 Glast which must have been near here , v. mægden ( gen . pl . mǣgdena ) , hol 1 ' ahollow ' , croft ' a small enclosure ' .
