Hr Knowle & Lr Knowle , Lt Knowle , Long Knowle & Rough Knowle 1840ib , named from the 500 ′ hill referred to as lacnelle 13 (15) Forde , ' the knoll or hillock ' , from either cnoll ( if the spelling is for lacnolle ) or the i - mutated form *cnylle ; Knowle Cross is where five roads meet , v. cross ' crossroads ' .
