Etymology

Either 'boar clearing', v. bār 2 , lēah , or 'clearing where barley grew', v. bær 3 , lēah , cf. Barlborough supra 200. The name shows a similar interchange of lēah and hlāw as in Barlow (PN NbDu 11).
