Etymology

'Farm of Tǣtel ,' v. ingtun . The name Tatel is on record, a regular diminutive of OE  Tāta , perhaps for Tātol . Tǣtel shows an alternative diminutive suffix causing mutation of the stem vowel. Cf. the name Tǣtica which is on record with a different diminutive suffix.
