Etymology

The stream of Bēaga or Bǣga . In the first charter land is granted at Daylesford to a servant of God named Bægia for the founding of a monastery and it seems safe to assume that he is the same person as the one who gave his name to Bæganwelle named in the bounds of the land in question.
