Surrendell is Sorendene 1211 RBE, Surinden '1242 Fees, Surenden '1278Ass , Suryndon 1289 ib., Surynden (e )t. Ed 1 Ipm, 1316 FA, Cyrendene , Sirenden c. 1330 BM, Surrenden 1425 IpmR, 1576FF , Serenden 1428 FA, Sorenden 1507 BM, Surrendel 1695 Gough, Surrendel or Surrenden 1773 A and D. This is possibly from OE (æt þǣre ) sūran dene , a compound of sūr , 'sour' and denu . The opposite of Fresden supra 26–7.
