Etymology

Quelfurlong Fm is Quelleforlong t. Hy 3 RegMalm, Quelverlands t. Ed 6DuLa , Quelverland 1773 A and D, 1816 O.S. There is a well here (6″) and the first element is probably OE  cwylle , 'spring.' The second is the common word furlang. Cf. infra 431.
