Etymology

Cutsyke, Cutthesik c. 1235 Pont, Cutsik 14Nost 124d. A compound of ME  cut 'a cut, a cut water-channel' and sīc 'a stream'; cut is usually associated with mill in p.ns. and so refers generally to a mill- conduit.
