Etymology

'Cyneweard 's farm,' v. tun . “This (doubtless) had its name originally from some possessor of it in the Saxons time, Kineward being an appellation in those days not unusuall” (Dugdale 619). For omission of the genitival s cf. Kennerleigh (PN D 408).
