Pigeon Hill

Early-attested site in the Parish of Woolbeding

Etymology

Pigeon Hill (6″) takes its name from the bird, but probably not directly. There was a man called Richard Pygun living near here in 1296 (SR); his widow, with her name spelled Pijohan , was taxed in 1327 (SR).
