Stonecot Hall (6″) is Stonecorte 1373 IpmR, Stonecourt 1449, 1450 CarshCt. This is a post-Conquest name referring to a court or house built of stone. For the modern form cf. Felcourt infra 324 for earlier Feldcote . The latter is the more common order of change.
