Meadfield (6″) is Meddemefeld c. 1280 Swanton, Medemefeld c. 1350 SAC xxii, t. Ed 3Loseley , Medmefeld 1340, 1384Loseley , 1412 Swanton, Medefeld 1388 Swanton, 1548LRMB , Medefold t. Hy 8MinAcct . 'Middle open land,' or possibly 'moderate- sized open land,' v. feld and cf. Medmenham (PN Bk 190) and Medmerry (PN Sx 83).
