Gadbrook is Gatebrok (e )c. 1350, 1354, Gadbrokesland 1501Norfolk , Gadbroke bridge 1534 LP. 'Goats' stream,' v. gat , broc , and cf. Gatton, Gatwick infra 291, 288. The farm must have taken its name from the stream here.
