Etymology

Latchfordhole Fm (6″). A John Lacheford is mentioned c. 1300 Thame as having land here, and he probably derived his surname from the nearby Latchford 129. But cf. Lachegore c. 1197 (c. 1200) Thame, which means 'triangle of land by a slow stream,' v. gāra , lache .
