Rough Hill

Early-attested site in the Parish of Shenington

Etymology

Rough Hill (6″). Cf. Rougftons hill , Lower and Upper Rufhills furlong c. 1741Bennett . Probably the name should be interpreted literally, v. rūh . The first form is obviously a bad one, and it is not possible to tell whether there was a tūn as well as a hill.
